Collection: Shaping Self

Shaping Self is a collection of stoneware vessels inspired by Carl Jung's concept of individuation - the process of psychological development whereby one seeks to integrate conscious and unconscious aspects of their personality. Much like the vessels themselves, individuation is a multilayered process which challenges one's views of who they really are, and which poses questions about acceptance and control (or lack thereof).

The vessels are coil-built and painstakingly decorated with layers of porcelain slip, which was applied by fingerprint. They are then finished with a layer of transparent glaze.
